I rather excel others in the knowledge of what is excellent then in the extent of my power and dominion-Alexander the Great Many people have many different opinions about Alexander the Great but in my opinion Alexander the Great was not so bad but not really good Alexander burned down many cities enslaved many people and caused many wars but on the flip side he did bring together a number if diverse people in his empire Alexander helped create a new type of cultureAlexander the Great burned down the cities like the Thebes and Persepolis At the time Alexander had just taken over the kingdom of Macedonian and he was faced with revolts in Greece When he heard that Greece had revolted he had set out to reestablish his control in Greece Alexander had used harsh measures to show the Greeks that he would not tolerate rebellion Along with Greece Alexander also fought with Thebes Alexander totally crushed its army sold the people into slavery and burned the city to the ground Another example of Alexander burning down cities is when he had fought and destroyed the Persian army of Egypt king Darius army When the Persian army was defeated King Darius got scared and fled Darius was later murder by one of his officer With the death of Darius Alexander was the essential master of the Persian world After that he sent his troops to Persepolis one of Persias capitals and burned it to the ground as a sign of their victory Alexander the great enslaved people If you dont know what the definition of the word enslaved is it is to make someone a slave Alexander enslaved the people of Thebes after he had killed many of their soldiers and burned their city to the ground It did not say this but I think that the people under Alexanders control where all his slaves and he wanted to have more power and
