According to Wright 2008 there are several human characteristics that relate to stability from a persons birth to death these characteristics are impulsiveness inattentiveness and intelligence quotient IQ Caspi Silva 1995 Yet Wright 2008 says that almost all scientific data shows the human aggression emerges early in life and remains relatively stable over time Some critics agree that crime starts early in life and remain stable and that possibly youngsters are born bad others say the criminal behavior is stable and they overlook the fact that people change often in dramatic ways and sometimes for unknown reasons Wright 2008 Most studies will conclude that children will show signs of aggression and behavior problems an early age can almost negate that they will become delinquent teenagers Past behavior is a good predictor of future behavior Wilson 2008 Loeber1982 defines the stability of criminal behavior as persistence in a behavior or style of interacting over time He theorizes that a human being changes over time with age but is also influence by other changes such as a childs development and genetic structure Loebers second component of stability refers to persistent in a behavior or style of interacting meaning the unchanging of ones behavior over time Olewes 1979 completed research on the stability of aggressive and criminal behavior This study included children from United States England and Sweden He found average level of stability can be influenced by other factors that can systematically increase or decrease the estimate of behavior stability Olewes research studied children at two years old then again at three and finally at 10 he concluded that aggressive behavior is relatively stable over time Campbell Shaw and Gilliom 2000 concluded that younger children show that aggressive behaviors are relatively stable from toddlerhood to age 5 Loeber 1982 Olewes 1979
