The stand your ground law is a debatable topic many people are for it and others are against it The Stand Your Ground law has caused murders I believe the law was created to protect citizens but it has been proven to protect certain citizens I am from Florida and sometimes I do not like to watch the news it seems like someone is dying every minute which leaves me thinking to myself Am I next When I do watch the news I noticed more people were getting away with murder and the majority of them were Caucasian This news was devastating so I decided to look deeper into the Stand Your Ground law I found out that some of the suspects were innocent of murder charges because of the Stand Your Ground law I disagree with the Stand Your Ground law because it needs some changes and the law should apply to all citizens in Florida Stand Your Ground law was introduced to the state of Florida in 2005 Hundley 1The law allows citizens to use deadly force in public homes and vehicles even if the suspect does not have a weapon Law makers may believe the law is used to protect citizens but data shows that the law was used to protect certain citizens For example Hundley revealed that 73 percent murders Stand Your Ground law is a deadly law Most laws are made to stop crimes but this law is creating more criminals Kill once you will kill again The tragic death of a young African American teen opened many eyes nationwide One year ago a young black teen by the name of Trayvon Martin was shot and killed His killer George Zimmerman was found not guilty of all charges due to the Stand Your Ground law I personally disagree with the Stand Your Ground law because it needs changes According to CNN television Florida Stand Your Ground increased
