In the first picture April is in the middle of another slow mind-numbing shift as a sales associate at Bloomingdales She is wearing an all black uniform and appears to be goofing around with friends and not taking her job seriously Over the next two years April began to take risks and make sacrifices to better herself and discover a new and exciting career path The second photo was taken a couple months ago Now April is in the middle of teaching class at Green Fitness Studio in Brooklyn She looks focused and healthy April is an accomplished Pilates instructor and she has improved her outlook on life as well as her own wellbeing both physically and mentallyOver the many years that I have known April she had never been one for exercise On multiple occasions I remember her joining a gym with an annual membership and proceeding to never attend after the first week I wouldnt say she was overweight or unhealthy but she definitely had an insatiable sweet tooth Often I would find her watching TV with a pint of Hagen-Dazs in her handAfter the monotony and feelings of dissatisfaction began to wear on April she began to explore her options One day when we met up for some coffee she told me that she had been looking on craigslist for some ideas about future career opportunities and she happened upon an ad to work in the office of a Pilates studio in exchange for teacher training and certification She was apprehensive and skeptical about doing it because it would mean that she would have to quit her job and borrow money to support herself while in the program April always imagined that she would leave her retail job for a career in music or the arts so the idea of taking such a huge risk for a
