Every country has its own system education and every student have to go thru this system to go to a higher-level education The Dominican Republic and The United States have similarities and differences in this system The time spent in school including high school in The Dominican Republic and in The United States is the same for both countries are 12 years Therefore those years are divided in the same order for both countries The students have to go to elementary school middle school and high school Moreover the students from The Dominican Republic are in class for 6 hours and 5 days per week while the students from The United States are in class for 8 hours and 5 days per week On the other hand students from The United States have 3 weeks and 1 month of vacation whereas the students from The Dominican Republic have 2 months of vacation In contrast for both countries the schools have requirements that the students have to do to pass to the next course The students from The Dominican Republic that are in elementary school have to take Math Social Studies Spanish Physical Education and Natural Science while students from The United States have to take Math Reading Writing Science World Language and Computer Education However in high school for both countries students can see more diversity in the subjects such as Art Algebra Chemistry Languages History etc In addition in The United States there are certain clubs that in The Dominican Republic do not exist Those clubs are like Chess club Science Club Math Club etc Besides students from The Dominican Republic spend 2 or 3 hours doing homework while students from The United States
