Youth and educators have their fair share of differences when it comes to using Standard English of communication in Black youth groups The youth acknowledges black vernacular as a natural thing as in they have no control over the way they talk The educators teachers principals and professors want to teach the Black youth the proper ways of learning conventional English Many teachers try to teach the proper ways of the use of Standard English through their curriculum but have found it unsuccessful from improper teaching ways mechanisms or refusal of learning The Black vernacular has spread dramatically through poor urban areas Basically the dialect of youth black speakers is a contagion For many of these black people they refuse to learn standard English A student named Takiyah Hudson from Harlem says English is not our language Lee This example demonstrates how certain youth black people feel about the standard use of English They feel as if their dialect is something completely different from that of proper English and represents their way of speaking Their way of speaking comes natural and they cannot control it Although speaking in black dialect is natural for these youth black people they also show indifference towards the standard use of English It is as if they do not care if they learn it or not For example Mr Halperin who teaches at the Richard Green High School for Teaching was instructing his students then one black student used proper English while answering a question but another student shouted who are you trying to be This student was furious due to the fact that someone else spoke proper English From this example it is obvious that many kids in the black poor areas show hatred towards the proper way of English This could be due to the fact that they feel it is an entirely different language and thus do not care for the language nor want to dedicate the
