For many years teen pregnancy has been an increasing problem with in society Reasons are because teenagers chose to be ignorant to the truth about being a parent while attending high school Although back then people used to frown upon this and teenagers understood that this was not okay Years have passed and it has changed from being married to a family to a family then marriage This has proceeded to change even more now where teenage single parents are a growing epidemic In America this is a huge problem because the government society and media have allowed teen pregnancy to be acceptable instead of taking action and reducing the ratesOthers may view this as acceptable and not a huge problem in America Many people can say that times have changed and America is growing and becoming a new country They may believe that the media is not contributing to teen pregnancy rather informing Americans that teen pregnancy is not going away and will always be a problem It could also be said that society in high school is overwhelming and filled with peer pressure and it is easier to go along that to fight the pressure A valid argument could be that the media is helping parents educated their teenagers if they are unable to talk to their parents about what is going on in their personal life Although the question remains the arguments discussed in this paper for the cause in teen pregnancy would be the government society and the media The government offers welfare to people who are living in poverty When welfare became available to unwed teenagers Auriana Ojeda the editor of Teenage pregnancy Opposing Viewpoints stated that welfare has normalized teen pregnancy 154 Adding to normalize it welfare has made it easy to take care of the babies If having a baby is easy that is one thing that is eliminated from a teenagers worries She goes on to
