In late 1929 the Great Depression had struck America for the next fewyears it worsened and had a negative affect on the economy employmentand most important the American public The Agricultural Adjustment ActAAA was passed to relieve farmers from high interest loans and toultimately help the economy and productivity of crops The AAA was meantto be a step out of the Great Depression but the AAA did not have theaffect it was intended to have The AAA created both positive andnegative impacts on farmers economy employment and the Americanpublic The AAA was put into action along with many other acts andadministrations in 1933 as part of the New Deal that Franklin DRoosevelt had created to help the economy and ideally end thedepression The AAA was meant to pay farmers to not grow crops such ascorn wheat cotton rice peanuts and tobacco Also the AAA paidfarmers to reduce excess livestock such as hogs and lambs This wouldraise the value of crops and livestock because of the reduced surplusBasically the AAA would balance the supply and demand of farmersproducts The AAA was intended to provide relief for both farmers and the rest ofthe American public along with the rest of the New Deal It would paythe farmers to grow fewer crops and raise less live stock thusproviding relief for impoverished and struggling farmers The AAA wouldalso balance out the supply and demand of these products thus helpingto recover the economy and provide relief for all Americans The AAA wasapart of the New Deal which was intended to recover the economy fromthe high unemployment rates bankruptcy and corrupt farming The AAAwould help reform private structures mainly farms because the farmerswould now have more money due to their AAA payment for not farming tostimulate the economy and help them from selling or shutting down therefarm because of bankruptcy The AAA also helped reform public structuressuch as the American economy by adding to the stimulation of theeconomy along with other
