In fifth grade after three full months of arguing with my parents Idecided to surrender and do what they wanted me read my first bookJudy Moody Until that day reading meant nothing for me it was justsomething my parents did everydayWhen I finished this book that ideatotally changed Judy Moody was a girl just like me young happyadventurous who liked the same things as I Then I realized if Iread things that I can relate to or that are of my interest the idea ofreading fascinated me I was amazed I love reading so much that soonthere wasnt a minute of the day I didnt have a book in my hands Since then I havent stopped reading I felt that discovery I made infifth grade has opened so many doors and opportunities that if I hadnt read that little book back then I wouldnt have entered this magicalworld As I was born and raised in Panama English is not my firstlanguage reading helped me in so many ways like improving dramaticallymy English skills I am a fan of reading it has helped me andentertained meWhen I was in seventh grade I started reading in English it wasdifferent than spanish books I found many words I couldnt understandso I began to search I was learning new words like bizarre serenityinnovation words that I didnt use in my daily English classes Thishelped me through high school as I became more confident and fluent inEnglish than other kids in my class Also reading in general helped meexpress my thoughts and feelings better in words As the years passed Iread all kinds of books including comic books history books andromantic books in all this books I found different types ofself-expressions I realize how each author had their own voice styleand way to express themselves to the world Reading helped mecommunicate more effectively and improve my english skills but at thesame time I learn different ways of
