"I can see where your main claims and directions for your argumentation are coming together in this draft, making this a good start for your essay. As you move forward, focus on how you organize and present each key idea. For example, the discussion about bias in para. 2 doesn't really get off the ground, and the reader isn't sure if you are discussing personal bias or if you are going to discuss how the events of his time influenced his thinking. Both of these approaches come up later in the essay, so my recommendation is to use a reverse outline to get a sense for when you cover which idea. From there, you can move around the order you present the arguments, grouping together similar points for a more efficient discussion that the reader can follow more easily. Another example of this is your discussion of whether you agree with the feared/loved aphorism; you touch on this on page 1 and 2, but a more powerful argument could bring those two discussions together into a single paragraph that focuses the reader's attention."
