Exams can be stressful when not prepared in advance Though no specific studying technique is right there are many different ways to study to effectively approach an exam Every person has a different studying technique that better suits them but it is not only the studying that must be done there are also a few other things that improve exam taking Studying is not memorizing a few vocabulary words it is actually learning the material and knowing how to apply it The most important part of preparing for an exam is learning the material as opposed to memorizing it It is difficult for our brain to learn a large quantity of information in such a short time students who do so tend to get the material mixed up and perform poorly on the exam Do not procrastinate by waiting until the night before of the exam to study In order to be ready for an exam one must prepare ahead of time for it It is easier to keep up with studying time if a schedule is made assigning at least 30-45 minutes per day on each subject in order to thoroughly cover all the material that might be on the exam It is important to start studying with at least 4 days in advance the more a person studies the better they will do on the exam Writing notes helps retain more information rather than just reading for it is easy to forget material when learned in a short time span It is easier for our brain to learn the material when we write down notes summarizing each chapter notes are accessible whenever short on time Studying in a quite area that is free from distractions also plays a role in effective studying because its easy to get distracted but hard to concentrate It is essential that one reads all chapters thoroughly and makes notes
