Fairy tales have been around for centuries capturing readers page by page story by story and dream by dream In Germany in 1812 two brothers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm did just this when they published their first volume of fairy tales Childrens and Household Tales soon to follow in 1815 a second volume was published Grimms Fairy Tales of which contained the now famous Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs The story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs became so popular that in 1937 a young man named Walt Disney brought the tale to life in his first animated movie Times during 1812 were difficult the United States and Great Britain were at war this was what we now know in history as the war of 1812 and when Walt Disney produced his film America was going through one of the longest and toughest economical devastations in history The Great Depression Through the struggles the nation faced in The War of 1812 and the Great Depression from 1929-1939 they relied on prayer and faith to restore their hope As the tale of Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs is written and depicted in film it so brilliantly ties in with that hope as the story relates with many religious symbols The film rendition of this well-known tale takes on a lighter side than depicted in the Grimm version Walt Disney truly kept with the same concept as that of the Grimm brothers however he adapted the tale to make it suitable for all ages eliminating the graphic violence and cannibalism found in Grimms edition Walt Disney Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm were all raised with strong religious values values that they carry with them into their tale of Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm were raised in Germany in a life of faith as devout Calvinists their father was a clergyman Walt Disney was raised as a devout
