As said by LeBron James For me already being part of a single parent household and knowing it was just me and my mom youd wake up times and hope that the next day youd be able to be alongside your mother because she was out trying to make sure that I was taken care of But all I cared about was her being home Some children find this statement to hit home and some like having some space from each parent In single-parent families there are several pros and cons depending on how you take the situation at hand Some things that living in a single-parent family might affect are the childs grades behavior and social life Living with my mother has made me very self conscious about everything especially my grades Living with my mother and her working all the time made it difficult when I was little When a child is in elementary and middle school it is very important to spend a lot of time with them on their homework to ensure that they succeed in school I didnt do so well on tests and quizzes because I thought that the homework was so hard that I just gave up All I had was my grandmother and she hasnt been in school so long she doesnt know half the stuff that I am even asking her about However having both parents in the picture can probably improve a childs grades or better yet test scores immensely My father is extremely good at Math and without his help every now and then I wouldnt have been able to make such good grades in my math classes Its difficult not having both of my parents together encouraging me but that has made me strive harder to make myself do good in school and my little brother to do just that also Having to perform such actions has made me feel like a leader
