Everyone has something that sets them apart from everyone else and makes them unique or different For me it happens to be that I am half deaf or hard of hearing With every difference come with stereotypes because they are not normal or like everyone else Back in the day they used to think deaf people were dumb just because they had to learn a little differently than others When deaf people would try to sign as their way of communication their hands would get smacked or they would have to sit on them Now-a-days people look at deaf people as they are just slot but they still get treated lower than everyone else Most people dont believe that deal people can so the same things as them but they can it just takes a little more work Deafness is accepted in todays society more than it used to be Growing up I progressively have been losing my hearing and most people I have been around have treated me differently because they didnt know how to approach me I grew up in a small town and so there werent many people that are different so I felt like I was alone most of the time The teachers didnt have any kind of training to know how to treat a child with a disability I sometimes would have to stay after school and have them explain what I couldnt hear in class but when I got certain teachers that refused to do that for me my grades started falling Most of my teachers tried the best they could but they did get angry sometimes when I would ask them to repeat themselvesOn this one occasion in the sixth grade I walked into class to find we had a new seating arrangement so the teacher told us to find our names on the desks My name happened to be on the third desk from the right in
