Deuteronomy 66-7 is very similar to Psalm 1273 These two references deal with the responsibility of a parent to train his child according to Gods will and not his own Children are a God-given gift that must be taken taught according to the Bible Deuteronomy 66-7 talks about how a parent must hide Gods Word in their heart and must teach their children according to what they have already determined and accepted from His Word These verses show that parents need to take every opportunity possible to instruct their children in the ways of the Lord Obviously the responsibility lies on the shoulders of the parents alone it is not Biblical for children to receive any other direction other than the direction their parents receive from Gods WordLikewise Psalm 1273 discusses the fact that children are a responsibility as well as a gift sent from God The verse speaks of an heritage which means that God gave children to their parents not because the parents deserved them but because He is a generous loving God Consequently parents must take great care to raise the children God gives in a way that would please HimIn short these verses are connected because they put the whole responsibility of children on the parents God gave the parents these children so God should be pleased with the outcome that their training entails Parents are accountable for what God allowed them to receive
