"This is a well-researched essay that builds its argument in an organized manner. I wonder if the end of the essay, however, is the best place to discuss the Volstead Act; have you considered, instead, giving that contextual and background information earlier? This will allow the body to focus and end on elements most relevant to the thesis and argument.

Looking at both sides through the lens of citizen rights is an interesting one, as the anti-Prohibition discussion often highlights organized crime. I worry this essay falls into that trap as well, giving as much if not more space to discussing illegal opposition than the signposted discussion of legal ways citizens opposed and eventually won repeal of Prohibition. I do not think you are arguing that flouting the law is free speech, but that ends up being the direction the argument implies. This may be a matter of rethinking the frame, bulking out an area of the discussion, or revising signposting and other phrasing to bring forward the relevant evidence."
