Shelbys winter vacation started out as a fun evening with her best friend but when they got invited to a party things turned bad Seventeen year old Shelby Allen and her best friend Alyssa were hanging out together when they got a text from their other friend Jane Jane wanted them to come to her house to hang out and drink It was okay for them to all drink beer at Janes house because she lived in a safe house where her parents allowed them to experiment with drugs under their supervision even if some of the friends parents did not allow it Before Janes parents went to bed her father told the girls not to drink anymore Shelby and her friends decided to anyway and they took shots of Vodka For some strange reason Shelby decided that she wanted to take 15 shots She did After taking the shots Shelby started to feel sick so she went to the bathroom Soon after Shelby passed out with her head on the toilet seat and her friends thought she was just sleeping it off unfortunately she was not When Shelbys friend saw her shaking and snoring she just thought Shelby was sleeping The next morning Jane told her father Shelby was not feeling well however he was not alarmed About an hour later when Alyssa woke up she checked on Shelby and knew something was wrong She told Janes sister to call their father who immediately came home and called 911 By the time the EMTs got there they were able to find a pulse unfortunately it was too late to save Shelby This article makes me feel sad because it was horrible that such a young girl could have died from alcohol poisoning especially in a house where adults were present and people were around to call for help I feel so sorry for Shelbys family because they tried so hard to keep her safe
