The inquiry into Gods existence is one that has both baffled anddisconcerted some of the greatest minds ever known to human existenceThe question proved to be worthwhile enough for Plato St AnselmThomas Aquinas and Albert Einstein and so I find my personalinvestigation into the subject justifiable The ontologicaltheological determinist causal and cosmological metaphysicalarguments have been some of the most prevalent and effective argumentsto prove Gods existence However the counterarguments to thesepremises have remained equally if not more compelling The assertionsopposing God is where Ive identified plausibility and accuracy It iswith thought process and pragmatics that I approach such a controversialsubject It is important to recall that the suggestion of God has alwaysbeen introduced with theories and ideas - thoughts that can not beindefinitely confirm or rejected - and so the objective is not to provebeyond a reasonable doubt but rather on a balance of probabilities The ontological argument is based off of St Anselm claiming that themere ability to imagine perfection or simply the greatest thingimaginable is the ability to imagine God who therefore existsHowever in following the same process of rational though I can imaginechaos and randomness and the non-existence of God Furthermore I canimagine how there is no perfection how everything is flawed In usingthe same logic as the ontological argument I can strip the viability ofit The simple ability to imagine something does in no way force it intoactually being Anselm claimed that to understand the existence of Godmeans that one has created God in their mind this argument mandatesthat being able to visualize God validates his existence An argumentthat is unable to produce supporting theories that do not require theargument in the first place is invalid as it is a concept containedwithin it meaning that it has no relation to the world outside of itsown facts Anselm proposed another supporting contention that requiredthe argument to exist in order for it to be valid though it can becombated for other reasons His
