They say beauty lies within the eye of the beholder but some are quick to judge when it comes down to how someone looks What is beauty and what characteristics must one have to be beautiful One definition of beauty is defined as being physically attractive or being pleasurable to the senses Merriam-Webster Dictionary Many could argue that the definition is correct but most do not understand the idea of beauty In every country the standards of beauty differ from what one sees on a daily basis What one sees as true beauty could be seen as something ridiculous in another culture Beauty cannot be compared due to the fact that beauty is a matter of opinion There is no way that we all could live by the same standards of beauty But in todays society we are taught differently In this world we live in you either fit in or you dont people are made to believe that this is how life works What the world teaches us today about beauty was not once taught in past generations There are so many new factors as to what women and men must acquire in order to be considered beautiful Today the media romanticizes the concept of beauty ones inner beauty is often overlooked and the true meaning of beauty has regressed overtime From commercials to magazines the media is constantly surrounding us Every social network has us constantly keeping an eye out for something new The fact that we allow others to tell us how to dress act and feel about ourselves is horrible Celebrities are used to endorse products in order to allow us to believe that they really work In The Marshfield Time Editor-in-Chief Lisa Donato states magazines first take away a womans self-image and esteem and then offer to sell them back to her one product at a time Donato She states this very accurately due to the fact that women
