Throughout all of time Shakespeares he will be recognized for his poems although thats not the only work he did in his time Shakespeare also wrote poetry due to an outbreak creating the iambic pentameter Also during the same era other poets emerged such as Davies Donne and Herrick using poetry terms such as rhyme schemes and iambic pentameter In Shakespeare Sonnet 116 he writes about a sailor who is a devoted lover while in the Gulling Sonnets 4 by John Davies the devoted lover makes scornful mistakes towards the end of the poem While Shakespeare and Davies take different approaches to the representation of love They both contain elements of the quatrain to make a statement about the devoted lovers in each poem Love can be interpreted in many ways sometimes people abuse it or sometimes there are scorn lovers meant only for tragedy However in the rare cases people dont find love love finds them Eventually love helps people to be able to have faith to go through the troubles of live with the assistance of their partnerIn Shakespeare Sonnet 116 we see that poem speaks of a sailor who is a romantic Through the use of the iambic pentameter we see Shakespeare stressed certain words such as love Shakespeare states O no it is an ever-fixed mark That looks on tempests and is never shaken It is the star to every wandering bark Shakespeare 5-7Shakespeare compares the sea to love emplacing that love is only love and doesnt change even with all the struggles that come through such as the tempests at sea Ultimately love will continue on through hardships such as the sailor did through the storm at sea and in conclusion at the end love will only shine as bright as the star which sailors use the North Star in the skies to navigate home to retune home to his lover In Davies Gulling Sonnets 4
