Religion is more than life Remember that his own religion is the truest to every man even if it stands low in the scales of philosophical comparison - Mohandas Gandhi Hinduism and Jainism are religions that are practiced in South Eastern Asia Majority of the Indian population practice Hinduism which is procreation and purity of the soul It is said that Hinduism was practiced 3000-4000 years before the common era and since it was an oral tradition no one wrote any scriptures down The first scriptures appeared from the Aryans a group of nomads Most information that is known today about Hinduism is derived from the Veda which is a collection of writings that came from the Aryans Veda or as the Hindus called it the Veda dharma was very important to them similar to a religious law Even the language Sanskrit is the official language of the Hindu language which is derived from the Aryans Jainism is currently practiced vastly in India but several thousand practice across the globe Jain religions true characteristics are of non violence care for all living organisms even to the smallest ant care for the elders and monks and finally abandonment of worldly objects A Jains true conquest is to embark on the journey to liberation through vast techniques to reach spiritual enlightenment Even though Jainism came after Hinduism there are vast contrasts between them as religions These differences are Achieving liberation belief in God and states of reincarnation There is liberation in both religions but through different paths In the religion of Jainism it is believed that there is a visible and an invisible part of the universe Beyond that there is an eternal realm where there is limitless knowledge and power Liberation is achieved when one becomes inseparable with this realm Jains believe to attain liberation you must perform five fundamental practices These practices are1 Non violence ahimsa Never harm any living
