World War II and the Vietnam War were wars which Americans were both involved in they both had their differences as well as similarities World War II began in 1939 and lasted until 1945 Germany invading Poland is the start of the war The Japaneses attacked Pearl Harbor which was a reason America joined The Vietnam was started 1959 and ended 1975 World War II was declared unlike the Vietnam War World war II involved many nations Many Americans supported World War II and not many supported the Vietnam War Many Americans didnt understand the reason and purpose for the Vietnam War also because many knew they didnt stand a chance The Vietnam War was hoping to limit and contain communism WWII was known as the good war and the Vietnam War as bad A huge difference was after the two wars for example after arriving back home from the World War men were very proud but after coming home from the Vietnam many didnt feel any pride and werent treated as they were in WWII In WWII America won and in Vietnam America didnt Around 50000 men died in Vietnam and about 60 million in WWII In both wars a huge reason for involvement was a nation being attacked in some way in WWII in Pearl Harbor and in the Vietnam the Gulf of Tokin They also both fought using aircrafts a lot of the time The weapons which they used were somewhat similar boats tanks guns most were new Both wars ended extremely different both had totally different supporters and reasons for fighting The Cold War was a war fought between the Soviets and Americans although there was no real fighting going on between the two The war did have its political social and economic effect Some political affects that the Cold War caused were more political system controversy such as with communism which then was the reason for the Vietnam War and
