Steve Mariucci Father to Many A pentadic criticism of NFL Films Presents Football games family ties professional athletes crying and lots of love When some one mentions the name Steve Mariucci all of these attributes come in to play However Steve Mariucci is more than just these apparent characteristics Steve Marriucci is Head Football Coach of the San Francisco 49ers and a father figure to many including his own family The concept of being a great father and coach at the same time is hard to imagine Many non-believers would envision the concept to be one of myth and legend In actuality this notion is quite true of Steve Mariucci All one has to do is watch Steven Sabols 1998 NFL Films Presents to see Mariucci in action This episode of NFL Films Presents is about football coaches making a difference on and off the field Not only with football players but with other persons in the community as well In particular one segment about Steve Mariucci shows how he is constantly on the sidelines with his team and seemingly never with his family during the season The film opens with the setting of the scene in a photography studio Snap shots of Mariucci with his family are taken randomly with several cameras A voice over abruptly states The head coach is an authority figure to the team but to his own family he is often an absent figure Working 180 days straight during the NFL season not exactly a perfect picture Sabol Immediately we are spliced into Steve Mariuccis back yard Mariucci is being interviewed by the President of NFL Films Presents Steven Sabol Both men are sitting in chairs facing each other on a nice sunny afternoon Sabol asks Mariucci If they were to make a movie of your life would it be comedy adventure or a drama Definitely would be G-rated Sabol Mariucci replies and says his life is
