Government Jean-Jacques Rousseau grew up in a little town called Geneva France All his life he was a man of self education and curiosity beyond control Rousseau personally overcame such obstacles as poverty and loneliness He may have been a man of few words however the quality of the words surpassed the comprehension of most average men or woman Rousseaus childhood was anything but normal as a kid he was not allowed to play and he was brought up in the end by his Uncle At first he was brought up by his father and aunt his Father is who taught him to read and how to appreciate the surrounding countryside Rousseau began his travels at the ripe age of sixteen he quickly became the secretary and companion to Madame Louise de Warens this was an unusual relationship and not exactly what I call healthy He ended up being more then just friends with this woman although she was old enough to be his mother Although this may have normally been traumatic her influences lead him to conduct a period of intense self education starting in 1732 He tried such occupations as tutoring and personal secretarial work neither of the two seemed to suit him very well However Rousseau met a seamstress named Therese Lavasseur who was also quite the odd character they never actually were married although they lived together for the rest of his life Rousseau eventually ended up back in Geneva where his old friends took to considering that Rousseau was not mentally capable and questioned his mental health Throughout his lifetime he produced many such accomplishments as Emile and the Social Contract these are a few of the remarkable works that he was responsible for He starts out in the later with an astonishing quote Man was born free and he is everywhere in chainsSocial Contract 1762 this is one of his common theories that humans are corrupted
