When was the last time an activity was on the agenda for a college class Elementary middle and high schools are diverse in their teaching styles Various types of surveys quizzes and tests are becoming more common within schools so that teachers can help their students benefit more in the classroom The more diverse those schools become the less colleges and universities enforce learning style diversity When classes are not fit to care for an individuals needs students have less motivation to continue on with schooling College courses tend to only benefit auditory learners often forgetting about visual and kinesthetic learners The five senses are often connected to the different types of learning Since most people tend to use one of their senses more than the others the senses make up the top three learning styles auditory visual and kinesthetic Auditory uses hearing Auditory learners learn best from songs lectures and repetition Visual is just like it sounds learning from seeing Visual learners benefit best from videos Power Points and diagrams Last but not least there are kinesthetic learners Kinesthetic learners are hands on They benefit from physical activities games and physical diagrams These make up the three most common learning styles which most students are divided up in to Colleges and universities struggle to accommodate the different types of learning Most courses consist of a professor lecturing in front of the class for hours and if they are feeling generous you might get a Power Point When professors do this they are setting up one type of student to be successful in their class the auditory learner So what about the visual and kinesthetic learners According to a survey done on multiple college campuses the number two reason for a student dropping out of college is the feeling of isolation or not fitting in While this could be the effect of many other situations when a student is not getting the attention
