Throughout the first century there was a gradual change between the newly created religion Christianity and Judaism Throughout this change Christianity was no longer considered Jewish even though Jesus was a devout Jew throughout his life for multiple reasons The Jews knew that the Christian followers were not Jewish and they did not consider them to be yet outsiders considered the religion to be a subgroup of JudaismThe Jewish religion gradually pushed out the followers of Jesus while the Christians gradually pushed away from the Jews One of the changes consisted of people who were Jewish yet they admitted that Jesus was the messiah The Jews believed that Jesus was not a messiah and they rejected anyone who believed that Jesus was the messiah Between the years 30 and 70 the Romans were fighting with the Jews Around year 66 the Romans destroyed the Jewish holy temple in Jerusalem The Romans killed most of the priest and most of the Jewish population They forbid people from entering Jerusalem the holy land of the Jews After year 70 the Jews lost their temple and most of their priest The priest began to lose power and the Pharisees rose up and took control of the Jewish religion Pharisees were people who were serious about their religious practices Unlike the priest they did believe in a messiah angels and prophets Pharisees did not admire the religious practices of the priest The Pharisees organized the remaining Jews by the use of synagogues Synagogues were study locations and a place of worship for the Jews The Synagogues replaces the temples that were destroyed in Jerusalem The Pharisees rejected the Christians teachings They gained less tolerance for Christianity because of Paul a Greek speaker Lora 2and follower of the religion had said rude things about Judaism Paul stated You dont have to be Jewish first to join Christianity you could just become baptized and join the religion Christ changed the religion
