Individuals may endure many hardships throughout their life Some of which can be controlled and some of which happened uncontrollably Sometimes individuals will work on solving their hardships to restore their honour and certainty to life In the tragic play Hamlet by William Shakespeare he expresses the struggles individuals face when trying to restore their certainty of life and honour The protagonist of the play Hamlet is faced with numerous hardships in a short amount of time For example Hamlets mother Gertrude has married his uncle Claudius who was the killer of his father In the play Hamlet Hamlet feels like his honour had been destroyed and his life is in risk To try to solve these problems Hamlet decides to act mad to try to change the way other people in the castle look at him When Hamlet is confronted by his fathers ghost and told that Claudius was the murder of his father Hamlet decides to make a play in which the players would reenact what had happened in the Elsinore Castle The final way in which Hamlet tries to restore his honour is when he agrees to duel Laertes in a swordfightThroughout the first few scenes of Hamlet Hamlet is confronted with many hardships and obstacles For one his long loved father and king had passed away from being bit by a snake when he was resting in the garden Only a small time after the death of his father Hamlets mother Gertrude decides to take Hamlets Uncle Claudius as her husband This causes much depression in Hamlet and this can be seen when Hamlet only dresses in dark clothing Only a short while later Hamlets friends Hortatio and Marcellus confront hamlet and tell him they have seen his fathers ghost When Hamlet agrees to come with them and talk to the ghost he is told that the murderer of his father was Claudius who killed him with ear poison When Hamlet
