During the 1850s a womans right movement began to grow stronger and more sophisticated Two powerful leaders on this movement were Susan Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton they were searching for the quest of equality and freedom of women These two women worked with others like Sojourner truth Each of these individuals are extraordinary alone but what they accomplished together forever changed the course of American historyTo start with in 1821 the Troy Female Seminary in New York was found by Emma Hart Willard it was the first endowed school for girls Barber Everything needs a begging this might not seem like a big deal but women are a major importance in the world and back in the day they were not treated as If that was true First endowed school for girls was and is very important Elizabeth Cady Stanton is one of women responsible for The Quest for Equality She was born on November 12 1815 in Johnstown New York Born determined to demonstrate that women were equal to men and help them find a way to solve the problems women were having back so long ago which was lack of good treatment Elizabeth got motivation from her father constantly telling her he wished she was a boy Stanton Elizabeth Cady The nineteenth amendment has everything to do with the womens suffrage movement because it was the solution At the time when the nineteenth amendment was found the United States of America did not prohibit women from voting in public elections It was only when women fought for suffrage that the state legislatures made it clear to deny them the right to vote From 1776 to 1784 the right to vote was lost for women in New York New Hampshire and Massachusetts To make things worse to not being able to vote women that were not married were not allowed to do any kind of jury service public speaking holding public office attending
