Plea BargainingPlea bargaining is a really important part in Canadas justice system Plea bargaining is a term used to describe a process that occurs outside formal court proceedings where an accused agrees to plead guilty in return fro the prosecutors agreement to reduce or amend a criminal charge or sentence Antonacci G 2013 Basically you can make a deal so your sentence or charge is reduced Example suppose your caught with drugs the police might say tell us where you got them from and who sold it to you and theyll drop your charges Suppose youre a criminal and you give valuable amount of information your charges can be reduced or amended I think that they are lot of good and bad things to do with plea bargaining It allows criminals to get lenient with the law but provides extra information towards case solving I believe that plea bargaining can sometimes help things but also sometimes ruin them The pros of plea bargaining are that its helps get more information to solve cases or make sure that everyone involved in a crime is convicted When a young person commits a crime for the first time and in their case you can bargain some information to get them a reduced charge or sentence its just better from them It doesnt punish them are saviour It helps the courts to manage the case loads It reduces the work load of the prosecutors enabling them to prepare for cases by leaving the effortless and petty offences to settle through plea bargaining Another pro is that it helps reform the
