Since technology has advanced and continue to advance people have become so dependent on what it offers and this can interfere with a persons interpersonal skills because it will cut back on actual face to face interacting with other people Technology in a sense has become a crutch and disallows people to take full advantage of interacting with one another without technology devices Living in a fast past society technology has given people no choice but to learn how to accomplish day to day activity within the comfort of their home using the many devices Our lives have been changed drastically from way back than when pay phones where on every corner and how we would page someone when we needed to connect with them but now pay phones have been removed and pagers arent used like they were before due to the more advanced cell phones Although technology has given us much from learning online to face time on cell phones as well as the easier ways to communicate like via email instant messaging texting skyping and so on The problem still remain because people lessen their communication skills and they now spend less time talking to families but more time texting People also experience more daily stress trying to keep up with the high tech and feeling more lonely and depressed due to isolation because skyping web cam face time and so on are being used instead of visiting when you live close by It is evident that the lack of personal communication is due to excessive Internet usage and can have an overall negative effect on mental and physical health Communication skills are critical for everyone yet use of the Internet is undermining this developmentBack in 2009 Richard Oppenheim article called On the Way had presented technological trends that did further affected people in their business and personal lives He goes on to warn people of the new technology that is on
