Boy scouts of America is the largest youth service organization with over 4 million current members BSA web The Boy Scouts of America operate by teaching boys life skills and working hand in hand with members of the community The boy scouts have had a profound impact in my life and have shaped the man I am today I am going to tell you about the Boy Scouts history my experiences and the effect they have had on my lifeThe Boy Scouts of America is a service organization that was established in 1910 The purpose was to teach boys life skills and instill them with good values Boy scouts is consisted of three types of members Cub Scouts younger boys age five to ten Boy Scouts eleven to eighteen and then Eagle Scout the highest level of achievement Today the Boy Scouts have grown and expanded much larger than anyone ever expected In 2011 the Boy Scouts of America were responsible for eleven million service hours equaling over 200 million dollars in service BSA The Boy Scouts is such an important organization because it give thousands of boys the chance to learn life skills experience the outdoors and be actively engaged in the communityThe Boy Scouts of America has had a profound impact on my life I joined the Cub Scouts a lower division of the boy scouts when I was six years old in first grade When I very first joined I was not a very happy camper I did not like the fact that I had to dress up in a blue collared shirt and wear this stupid looking red checkered bandana around my neck and attend all these mandatory meetings It was not until I grew a little older and transitioned from the Cub Scouts to the Boy Scouts that I started to really see what boy scouts was all about It is around this time that I participated in
