Brandy CozadMs JacksonEnglish 1021 Sept 2014 The Value and Cost of an Education Attending college to further your education opens up a world ofopportunity to a student There are often higher-paying opportunities thatwould not have been available to them without higher education In collegea student is able to focus and master on a career that specificallyinterests them To this day college graduates are much more favored thanthose that have not received higher education Todays economy isincreasingly becoming more competitive so it is favored to have a degree The demand for hiring workers that hold a college degree is on therise and it seems that it will continue to increase With that being saidwhy does it cost so much for one to go to college and graduate with adegree Many are beginning to ask if a college degree is even worth itscost today Almost every high school student today is pressured to continueon go to college pursue a degree and make much more money in aprofessional career What they fail to mention is the amount of studentloans that they will end up getting themselves into Some even argue thatcollege is starting to become more of paying to have your degree ratherthan paying for the quality of the skills you are receiving The CollegeBoard says that it costs almost four times as much to attend college nowthan it did twenty years ago It is agreed that those that are graduatedfrom college with a degree have a higher chance of landing a higher payingjob but the time that it is taking for students to pay back money owed isgrowing much faster Many argue that not even half of college graduates endup with a job that actually requires their college degree On the otherhand it
