Jamie Milliser Jan 31 2002 The heart of any nation is its economy The heart of any nation is its economy An economy consists of all activity in a nation that affects the production distribution and use of goods and services There are four different types of economic systems tradition command market and mix A pure tradition economy is based on tradition and what was done in the past In a pure command economy the individual has little or no influence in the way in which the government controls the economy In a pure market economy individuals are in charge of the economy and look out for their own self-interest A mixed economy is a mixture of a command and pure market economy The country of Van Bernstein fictional is one of the many countries that have a Mix economy The aspects of Van Bernsteins economy that and derived from a pure command economy are the government controls on some prices the government provide the job for its people and tell the works were when and how to work In this country the government controls some of the prices on certain goods to restrict the amount of profit one person receives For an example gasoline prices the government keeps the coast of gasoline down to insure that every one has what they need The government provides the jobs for the people in the county to insure that every one has a job eliminating the poverty level The government also tells the work whom it has provide jobs for were to work insuring that everyone has somewhere to work The aspects of Van Bernsteins economy that are derived from a pure market economy are consumers decide what to buy and how much free activity between buyers and sellers of goods and services and although the government provides the jobs the government has a loop hole in which people may switch their occupation In
