America is known as the land of opportunities People with different cultures religion and background come from all parts of the world come here to have a better life and have more opportunities for their children in the next generation Unfortunately there are some people who are less fortunate to be given the once in a lifetime opportunity to attend college Everybody should have an education proportional to their life Thomas Jefferson pg 214 As a second semester student at a Community College I find that college is just the first step starting your life as an adult You learn responsibility and independence and all the things that are going to prepare you for the future It is a way of discovering yourself to find out whom you really are what you like and want to do College is basically to test limits and go beyond your comfort zone and try new things and meet new people because you never know if you may like it New experiences could lead to new decisions in life After graduating from high school some students decided it was best to just go straight into working For several reasons such as they cant afford it they are too lazy to continue school they rather make money than sit in a classroom and learn and some have already started their families and prefer to be a full time parent instead These are all realistic reasons and it is perfectly fine to do what you please America is a free country I am just saying their are millions of people that would kill for an opportunity to go to school earn a degree and make a successful living when some people have it and take it for granted If you cannot afford school financial aid is always a possibility and there are also scholarships available for everything and anything Even if it is not enough it is a start Laziness
