Jim's feedback:
"This is a good summary of Lena Horne’s life, but a lack of precision works against it. You sometimes use incorrect verb tenses. You say she “has always regretted …,” which implies she is still alive. You say she was light skinned, without having established that she was African American. You mention a salary of $25 a week, but what is the equivalent in today’s money? (It is roughly $350.) Later, you write about the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, but you mentioned the NAACP (without indicating what it means) in the first paragraph. You write that she believed in equal rights and demanded a contract from MGM, without explaining the studio’s normal practice, nor what “equal rights” means in this case. Is it about race or gender? We do not know. You have a good conclusion, but the introduction should start by identifying her, e.g., as an entertainer and civil rights advocate."
