Theodore Roosevelt or TR the twenty-sixth president of the United States is truly one of the presidents who contributed numerous changes in our country Born on October 27 1858 in New York City Teddy Roosevelt did not have a strong immune system for he suffered from bronchial asthma which threatened his life making him feel like he was drowning and couldnt breathe However when his father Theodore Roosevelt Sr took him to a family trip to Europe in1869 told him that without a healthy body a great mind would not be able to work properly In result TR started working out in the gym took horseback riding classes and as well as swimming Also he studied the languages English French German and Latin with the help of private tutors When he reached the age of seventeen he enrolled at Harvard where he proved himself as a very hardworking and productive student by always having solid grades In addition he was extremely sociable and so he joined several clubs like the Hasty Pudding Club the Rifle club the Art Club the Glee club and he also participated in boxing and rowing teams While attending Harvard he met his first wife Alice Lee who he married on October 1880 after graduating from Harvard Theodore Roosevelt also wrote books Some of his works are The Naval War of 1812 Winning of the West and the Autobiography which are considered as American classics Theodore Roosevelt served n the United States Civil Service Commission from 1889 until 1895 On 1895 New York Mayor William L Strong appointed him as police commissioner TR aimed to stop grafters Not long enough in 1897 President William McKinley assigned him as Assistant Secretary of the Navy under John long Teddy Roosevelt then became the leader of the Rough Riders where he led his troops on July 1 1898 to Kettle Hill and San Juan Hill at Santiago during the Spanish-American War The war caused
