Countless stories emerge on the topic of poor children growing up to be the successful leaders of the world The story of Steve Jobs is no different Put up for adoption as an infant he went on to become one of the most well known figures in the technology industry He changed the playing field for electronics and his company Apple went on to become one of the most successful technological companies in the worldSteven Paul Jobs was born to Joanne Schieble later Joanne Simpson and Abdulfattah John Jandali on February 24 1955 in Los Altos California They were two University of Wisconsin graduate students and gave their son up for adoption even before naming him He was later adopted by Clara and Paul Jobs and was named Steven Paul Jobs His mother was an accountant and his father was a Coast Guard veteran and machinist While his father would work on electronics in their garage Jobs would join him and learn how to take apart and reconstruct electronics This pastime would become his inspiration to pursue an education and career in electronics As a child Jobs was not successful in school He was always creative and innovative but he was not able to focus in class Although he didnt show talent in class he showed his abilities during examinations In fact he scored so high that administrators wanted to skip him ahead to high school His parents declined however and he went on to Homestead High School Nevertheless his talents did not go unnoticed He was introduced to Steve Wozniak a student studying at the University of Michigan They met at a meeting of the Homebrew Computer Club Wozniak was trying to make a small computer Jobs realized the potential of making this a commercial product They collaborated for a short period but then Jobs went on to college He enrolled in Reed College in Portland Oregon Not knowing what to do he promptly
