The Apology of Socratesby Platois an important work of literature Although written some two-thousand years agoit shows us how our society is much like the one of SocratesIt shows how the equities and inequities of his time are like the ones todayIn reading the Apology of Socratesone can learn how consistency can lead to equitableness Throughout th Apology of SocratesPlato shows the reader how consistent Socrates is He shows the reader how Socrates stands up for what he beleives inSocrates shows his consistency by letting the jury know that the only way he would stop his practices and teachings is death Another example of Socrates consistency is not begging and pleading for his lifeSOcrates feels like he has done nothing wrong and he does not care what happens to him as long as he stands up for what he beleives inSocrates feels that if he does not stand up for what he beleives in he will be dishonored Therefore Socrates feels he will receive equitableness whether he lives or dies Platolets his readers know that Socrates feels that justice will prevail after he is gonethrough the youth that he has taught SOcrates feels that the accusers will receive a much worse punishment then he He knows the youth will no longer be restrained by him He knows the youth will then become the accusers and be far more ungracious In conclusion Socrates receives exactly what he wants equitableness He makes it distinctively clear that no matter what happens to himthe accusers will not be self-righteous and he willHe knows that his consistent lifestyle of teaching truth and wisdom have not hurt people but done nothing but help them go through self-evaluation and obtain righteousnessHe lets the judges know in the end that no wrong will come to himwhether he lives or diesand that he is better off dying because he is being released from the hostillities of the world
