Because of the result of the treaty in 1848 thousands of Mexicans became American Citizens in the United States The US took control of the northwestern part of Mexico however an integration of a Mexican population affected the nation The Mexicans were not ready for this new system and they suffer economic social and mental problems The integration of Mexicans into the US increased racism Immigration debates are discussed today over letting Mexicans the right to live and work in the US but if they allow that the Democratic Party will dominate in the future and there would be too much government involvement There would be more people earning minimum wage and the government would have to supply Medicaid Medicare food stamps and other government services Also the money to cover the cost of these services would have to come from an increase of tax to the rich because the minority group does not have enough money to give away Racism and violence will increase in the US and drug cartels would also rise These early Mexican Americans served in the war and when they came back from the war nothing had changed and they were still treated badly The experience from the Mexican Americans taught many lessons to the world They taught the people of the world to stand up for their rights and to stay together as a group to make a difference The Hernandez v Texas Brown v Board of Education received very little money because the minorities did not have enough money to pay the lawyers and the court costs The Mexican Americans started to donate money from their wages even though they had very little money The Supreme Court paid more attention at that moment because these cases were rising about unfair treatment to the Mexican Americans in the US For example in schools Hispanics had to use a different type of restroom and were not allow using
