Jim's feedback:
"Place a period after a citation that ends a sentence, and not after the text. Avoid comma splices (as in the last sentence in the first paragraph); this is the use of a comma to link what should be two sentences. You tend to place extra commas that interrupt the flow of a sentence. It is good practice to avoid informal expressions, including contractions. You end a sentence and start the next one with the expression “zoo madness.” Stylistically, this looks cluttered, and it is hard on the reader. It would not be difficult to combine the two sentences to eliminate the problem. Avoid imprecise expressions such as “etc.” In the instance on page 2, you might change “i.e.” to “e.g.” and avoid that issue. Note that the following sentence does not start with a capital letter.
Your statements on roadside zoos range from undocumented to speculative. Overall, this is the weakness of your paper. Your opinions will carry more weight if the facts are backed up by authoritative citations."
