The purpose of this essay is to tell about one of the most significant events in my life which was when I transferred from homeschooling to Nevada State High School I had been home schooled since the fifth grade before I went to Nevada State High School I experienced culture shock when I made the switchHomeschool was pretty easy because I could start my school whenever I wanted and stop whenever I wanted I could cram the whole days lessons in three hours or I could set up my schedule to space out my lessons throughout the day With homeschooling you can work at your own pace such as turning your assignments in late doing your schoolwork fast or slow and not needing to have time management When I first got to Nevada State High School I didnt know what to expect but it turned out to give a lot of advantages that other schools could not With NSHS you take college classes in high school that pertain to a degree Before you can get accepted into the school and go to the two week course you are required to take a few placement tests to learn what classes you will be placed in according to what score you get on the tests After you get your results on your placement tests you get to choose what instructor you want and choose one of the times they have for their class These are some of the advantages you get from homeschooling and Nevada State High SchoolBoth kinds of education also have some disadvantages such as in home schooling you dont get very much social activity because you dont get to go to a school and hang out with friends Another disadvantage of homeschooling is that you dont get to pick the classes that you take and have fewer electives to choose from For electives I was only allowed to take a foreign language
