The topic I will be covering is one that got my attention due to the attention it does not receive from the main line activist programs trying to keep the food industry under control My topic involves investigating deeper into not only the personal cost of obesity but also the economic cost to our economy caused by obesity in the past present and the future Much time and effort is spent by activist groups and researchers trying to warn people of the dangers of processed food and the health issues involved in the consumption of these items I plan to cover that topic very thoroughly in my research paper However I also wanted to go deeper than just grams of fat and calories I want to take a hard look at the dollars and cents behind the food industry I believe that if more people were shown what the food industry was doing to our economy that it might be the extra push consumers need to put forth the effort to change their eating habits and how they purchase food in general The costs economically and socially caused by and heavily associated with obesity due to the food market will be the basis of the main aspects and issues I cover With regards to the economic problems cause by the food industry questions such as what is the amount of money used by our medical system to treat illnesses and diseases people develop from being obese and how much is a life lost to obesity worth Will arise In addition questions such as how many people die from obesityobesity related complications every year and what kind of toll does obesity have on an individual and an individuals family and friendsDuring the elapsed time of my research paper I plan to use many online electronic database articles along with information out of both the Food Inc book Also I plan on using government websites to gain
