According to the AC Nielsen Co the average American watches more than 4 hours of TV each day or 28 hoursweek or 2 months of nonstop TV-watching per year In a 65-year life that person will have spent 9 years glued to the tube Thats a lot of sitting in front of the TV Parents need to know how TV can affect their children with negative influence In the book Unplugging the Plug-In Drug the author and mother of two sons Marie Winn argues in her book the eight significant ways on how TV can affect children and families Reading through her book I agree with Winns on how TV can have negative effects on children and families According to Archives of Pediatrics Adolescent Medicine they has found that television exposure at age two forecasts has negative consequences for kids ranging from poor school adjustment to unhealthy habits Throughout the paper I will talk about five out of the eight significant ways on how TV can have negative influences on children and parent First of all I believe that TV keeps the children away from having family time with their family and its keeps families from doing other things Instead of spending quality time with family the kids just want to sit and watch TV Watching TV is the easiest way for the family to get over some free time and I think watching TV can also be the laziest Watching TV is simple the kids just sit on the couch eating junk food The only thing that they have to do is grab the remote control and flip through the channel until they see what they like to watch and they dont have to get up or anything Family bonding is important because
