Bridget's feedback:
"Your use of details and a personable voice and style makes this a dynamic and interesting essay for your reader. I appreciate, as well, the balance you strike in focusing on venomous snakes while also highlighting other perspectives (medicine, conservation) toward the end. In your last paragraph, I recommend specifying the claim about extinction (all snakes?) to help the reader understand the threats and problems.
Looking over the body paragraphs, I see opportunities to streamline the prose and discussion with some targeted revisions, edits, and local reorganization. This can create more efficiency and keep those longer chunks of text moving. Make sure, as well, that your word choice and grammar offer precision and clarity. For example, "could be deadly" will probably make more sense as "can be deadly", and consider the effect of an early sentence that reads, "which nature didn't give the gift of..."; this casts the rest of the essay as a discussion as to how or why snakes don't have legs, but your writing covers more territory than that. Consider revising the word choice at that moment. Working with these details will help bring the paper to the next level."
