Illegal Immigration has been a problem in the United States for a long time starting from the beginning of the 1870s Immigrants from Mexico Ireland Germany Chinese and people from northern and western Europe have migrated to the US through the borders Pacific Ocean and many other ways- illegally or legally The number of immigrants immigrating to the US each year is about 31 million These immigrants have had negative impacts on the United States and its economy They have increased the population and caused over-population have taken over job industries and increased rates of crimes and deathsThe main reason for over-population in America in the 1960s was immigration Americas population consists of 20 of illegal immigrants According to a Pew Hispanic Center report Mexicans make up 57 of immigrants present in the United States illegally Another 24 are from otherLatin Americancountries approximately 9 are Asian and 6 areEuropeanand Canadian with the remaining 4 percent from the rest of the world In the 1900s millions of immigrants began piling into the US which caused the government to put immigration restrictions Between 1990 and 2010 the foreign-born share of the US populationgrewfrom 79 percent to 12 9 percent and the number of unauthorized immigrantstripledfrom 35 million to 112 million As President John F Kennedy states There is of course a legitimate argument for some limitation upon immigration We no longer need settlers for virgin lands and our economy is expanding more slowly than in the nineteenth and early twentieth century In the late 1800s the US put a restriction on Chinese immigrants because of the large amounts of them coming in each year The influx of immigrants migrating to the US from their foreign countries are taking over the workforce and limiting the job opportunities for the citizens of the US What does it mean when foreign people are taking over job opportunities when your citizens are suffering from joblessness and arent able to provide their
