Returning to my homeland after ten years was quite shocking it also opened my eyes and made me realize the power of family My mother and I left our home on December fourth 2009 to go to the airport of Los Angeles California When we arrived it turned out that our flight was delayed for another five hours The fact that I was very nervous from a week before didnt help The only good thing about the delay was that the airline company paid for a luxury hotel and dinner for all passengers it definitely helped my nerves for a while When the time came we did what everyone was required to do then finally we departed After 16 hours of uncomfortable flying the sign to fasten our seatbelts started flashing seconds after I heard the pilots announcement which said that we would be landing in Mendoza Argentina As I was listening to the announcement my heart started to beat faster I felt like a kid that couldnt sit still so I hurried up and looked out the window it was unbelievable Finally after so long I was back at homeAt the airport we grabbed our luggage and just seconds after walking out I noticed my mother smiling and her face expressing excitement shortly after she ran towards my uncle aunt and two of my cousins of which I havent talked to since I was a kid The feeling of seeing part of my family after so long was unexplainable it sort of felt like a dreamAfter all the hugs and greetings we headed out towards the city As we were driving through the highway we passed a town that was full of dirt roads horses with old wooden carriages and tons of poverty It was quite shocking seeing everything again through the eyes of an adult instead of a child I didnt remember any of this My mind
