My name is pardeep Singh this name has been given to me by our living Guru Guru Granth sahib ji Sikhism was founded in Punjab India by Guru Nanak dev ji After Guru Nanak Dev ji there were nine gurus to lead Sikhism into the next generation and teach us the principles of Sikhism They sacrificed their lives to keep the religion alive and growing Our tenth guru started baptism on March 30 1699 which is called the birth of khalsa Sikhism is unique When we pray we bless everyone and all things created by God Guru Nanak dev ji was first one to recognize women as equal to men over 303 years ago Sikh religion also says that one must believe in and stick to the religion they were born in And that all religions and races are equal Also the ninth guru sacrificed his life to save the Hindu religion Khalsa means He who keeps alight the unquenchable torch of truth He who never swerves from the thought of One God He who has full love and confidence in God He who recognizes the One God He in whose heart the light of the Perfect One shines He is to be recognized as a pure member of the Khalsa Guru Gobind Singh Rules of a Sikh You shall never remove any hair from any part of thy body You shall not use tobacco alcohol or any other intoxicants You shall not eat any meat unless you must to save someone elses life and To do so you have to live or fight for your religion however in both cases it is a last resort you must try to live on any other type
