Jim's feedback:
"Elements of a list should have the same form. For example, at the end of the first paragraph, you have “deterioration,” “Cuban missile crisis,” and “contributed.” The last element does not match, and you could fix this by changing it to “the financial collapse.” Use an em dash (—) in the second paragraph to break up the sentence, with no space on either side, and an en dash (–) to show a range of numbers. You can make these with character codes on a PC, or shift-option-dash and option-dash, respectively, on a Macintosh.
Use the proper word. For example, the Cuban missile crisis was not liquidated; you might instead say it was averted. Practice economy of expression and write with precision. For example, you can delete “I want to say” in the conclusion.
Note that you use an incomplete sentence in the conclusion, i.e., the sentence lacks a verb acting on a subject. You claim to write on the period through 1991, but much of this essay addresses the period after the cold war. This extends to the conclusion, which hardly mentions that period of time. Focus on the time in the title, or else change the title."
