Shakespeares play Hamlet is a prime example of a complex yet intriguing play It contains many parts that can be viewed from multiple perspectives One specific example is the relevance of the ghost and whether the actions instructed are from a source of good or evil Some may also wonder if the ghost even has an effect on the play or exists to other characters beside the few that sighted it However this doesnt satisfy most perspectives The ghost of the murdered king is one whom demands vengeance and plays Hamlet for his personal puppet to complete his wishes Some believe that the ghost doesnt even exist and that Hamlet is just hallucinating when the spirit appears before him This perspective would show that the ghost would not have any effect on the play and doesnt last long when argued because of the obvious Horatio Barnardo and Marcellus attempt to question the ghost that had appeared before them three times prior to Hamlets encounter Therefore if the ghost existed only to Hamlets insanity then the other three characters would need to possess the same characteristics Another argument against this perspective would be the fact that multiple characters are able to see the ghost at the same time In order for this to occur all of the characters would need to be thinking the exact same thoughts about the exact same image In this case when taken literally the theory would be impossible Then speaking of impossible the odds of Hamlet imagining a ghost that speaks the truth about the murder of his father arent too high With that theory ruled out some believe that the ghost instructs Hamlet in a good direction This is also hard to believe but easier to argue The ghost may wish for Hamlet to bring Claudius to justice for the crime that he committed For this reason the ghost would be representing goodness to the kingdom Plus the
