Jim's feedback:
"You have written a good essay on a great topic, but your writing is wordy. For example, toward the middle of your first paragraph, you could delete the last seven words of a sentence ("about what a sense of humor is") with no loss of meaning. Economy gives writing power. You should generally use double quotes. You write the same expression in both single and double quotes, by the way, which betrays inconsistency. You should leave a space before a left parenthesis and avoid unnecessary capitalization (e.g., "artificial intelligence"). In American English, we place punctuation inside quotation marks and write "toward" and not "towards." You should write "1960s" and "mid-'90s." Your closing may be correct, but I am not sure you have provided the background necessary to support it."
